Customer needs

Last year a professor named Hess
invented an ironing press
“How does it work?”
asked a girl with a smirk
He smiled and said “take off yer dress!”

Sometimes in life, it is worth considering that the customer isn’t quite who you expect it to be.

One man and his shrink

“What do you think?”
Said a man to his shrink
To which he replied
To nobody’s surprise
“What do YOU think?”

It shouldn’t take a decade in medical school to realise where the most valuable answers lie.

Technology and Innovation

A man obsessed with innovation
to the point of desperation
could one day finally see
he needed less technology
and more customer fixation

When technological innovation delivers an ultimate usefulness in the hands of a customer, that is when real value is created. The brilliance in the technology itself rarely inspires awe, or is even understood, by a few. What the technology can be used for however, is generally what is acknowledged as brilliant by the public.

Looking ahead

There once was a banker named Anne
who jetted from Bhutan to Japan
until her biological clock
went oh dear, tick tock
so she found herself a man

Can you trust that the universe will provide what you need, when you finally realise you have that need?

In a previous life

There once was a Chinese abbot
who had an annoying habit
he constantly asked
who you had sex with last,
in his past life he was a rabbit!

While there may be some satisfaction in understanding or knowing what happened before, it is often more valuable to focus on what you want going forward.

What matters?

There once was a monkey in Bangalore
who wanted to live in Mangalore
but she couldn’t decide when
so she tried practicing Zen
Now it just doesn’t matter any more!

Isn’t it amazing how often we fret about things we think are so important but really, they are just not. If only there were some way to figure out what is important and what is noise.

Nemesis

In London, there once lived a mouse
in a rather opulent house,
but despite all his quid
and no matter what he did
he couldn’t beat the Famous Grouse

Some challenges are just more difficult to overcome than others. Sometimes, if it’s important enough, it is worth considering some alternative measures to defeat your nemesis.

Making decisions

There once was a man in doubt
over all he could be in doubt about
until one day he met
his ultimate regret
and ended his decision-making drought!

Both decisions and indecision have consequences. It is often not until you know what you really want, or a decision is made for you, that you realise that procrastination has cost you dearly.

Crossing the Line

There once was a pig in Japan
who belonged to the Ku Klux Klan
until one day he joked
and instead he provoked
now he’s packed in a can of spam!

Usually, the only way of discovering your boundaries are by crossing them. The consequences of doing so, however, are not always worth the learning.

Silver Linings

If with every misfortune
you enter a cocoon
then rely on fate
for havoc to create
God needs a silk scarf soon!

Somehow, there is a means to view your current misfortune in an alternative, more positive way. Even if that fails to make you smile, it is worth remembering to never tempt fate to show you things could be much worse.
