Ideas and Planning

There once was a man named Mark
who wanted to build a park
so he planned and planned
and planned his brand
meanwhile it got built by Clark!

Even if you think very differently, ideas are rarely unique. What makes ideas truly valuable is their implementation, or at the very least, the action they inspire.

The 5 Second Rule

There once was a guru named Mick
who spoke of a simple trick
if you get off your ass and do
what you simply know to be true
you’ll change your life real quick!

Apparently, if you don’t link your idea to some form of action within 5 seconds, in all likelihood, the idea will die. Judging by the current state of the world, it appears mostly stupid people have empowered themselves with this 5 second rule.

Being liked

There was once a man named Jay Cobb
who was anything but snob
he knew little of finance,
economics or romance
but still wound up leading the mob!

The smart often forget that being liked often gets you further in life than being smart.

Capturing experiences

At the end of a rough day
of making sunshine out of hay
sat the man on his couch,
rummaging through his pouch
… searching for something to say

Sometimes, words simply fail to capture the intensity of an experience.

Stimulating Rants

The loving embrace
of a couple, mixed race
caused such anxiety
about impropriety
… and they’re only at first base!

Politics, sex and religion are topics that frequently inspire passionate, ill-considered responses. Perhaps it’s because identities are so closely tied to them.

The question is how can you use this pattern for financial gain?

Of Mice and Giants

Giant on the beach photo

There was once a man named Bryant
who was quite the corporate giant
he had a fear mice
which wasn’t very nice
but it sure made him a great client!

You’d be hardpressed to find a situation, no matter how dire, in which nobody benefited in some way. The corollary to this is of course that there is an opportunity in every situation.

Recurring patterns

There was once a gent who waited
for every lady he dated
until a clever girlie
showed his watch was early
and made him quite elated!

Sometimes figuring out the pattern of why something recurs can lead to solving some significant problems.

Incriminating Evidence

If only you knew
What she had in view
You’d be tickled pink
And inclined to wink
Well… until you see it’s photo of you!

Funny how things are often so much funnier when you’re not the butt of the joke.

Legacies

When John realised his time was up
He bowed his head and raised his cup
“Screw you,” he said
Despite all prepared
For he wanted to be remembered as a cocky pup!

Not everyone has the privilege of realising that they have limited time left in this life. If you are one of those few, preparing an exit speech might be a worthwhile exercise.

Customer needs

Last year a professor named Hess
invented an ironing press
“How does it work?”
asked a girl with a smirk
He smiled and said “take off yer dress!”

Sometimes in life, it is worth considering that the customer isn’t quite who you expect it to be.
